Meet Dr. Patrick R. Varble

I’m proud of the profession I chose, as I have seen great improvements in my patients’ self-confidence by improving their smile, which in turn helps them persevere to achieve their goals and dreams in life. Each patient is unique, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know their individual personalities during their orthodontic journey.

Growing up, I was profoundly influenced by my family, especially my brother, who was an orthodontist. His dedication and the impact he had on his patients' lives sparked my initial interest in orthodontics. Observing his work, I saw firsthand the blend of art and science in creating beautiful, healthy smiles and knew I wanted to be part of that transformative process.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1987, which laid a strong foundation for my dental studies. In 1992, I earned my Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL. Following a general practice residency, I continued my education at St. Louis University, where I received my Master of Science degree and orthodontic specialist certificate. This comprehensive training has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional dental care and specialized orthodontic treatments.

It is a privilege to help my patients achieve optimal oral health and beautiful smiles, and I am committed to continuing to learn and grow in this ever-evolving field. I am a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists, both of which enable me to stay abreast of new technology and concepts in the orthodontic field. In addition, I served as a Clinical Professor at Southern Illinois University - School of Dental Medicine for 25 years until my retirement in 2021.

I was born and raised in Jerseyville, where I currently reside with my wife, Kristy, and two adorable Shih-Tzus, Frankie and Louis. Our two grown children, son Jake and daughter Aly, are enrolled in orthodontic programs. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, hunting, fishing, and golfing, as well as giving back to the community in which I grew up and chose to raise my children.
